1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CommProv.Telco.Tools ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CommProv.Telco.Tools provides a free telephone number lookup service that identifies the communication provider (CP) allocated to UK telephone numbers using official data from Ofcom (Office of Communications, UK).

The Service includes:

  • Single number lookup via web interface
  • Bulk number lookup for multiple numbers
  • REST API access
  • Documentation and integration examples

3. Use of Service

3.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limiting or abuse the Service
  • Use automated systems to overwhelm the Service infrastructure
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the Service for spam, harassment, or illegal activities
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Interfere with other users' access to the Service

3.2 Rate Limiting

The Service implements rate limiting to ensure fair access:

  • 10,000 lookups per hour per IP address
  • Applies to both web interface and API access
  • Limits may be adjusted without notice
  • Excessive use may result in temporary or permanent blocking

3.3 API Usage

The REST API is provided free of charge with the same rate limits as the web interface. No API key or authentication is required. We reserve the right to:

  • Modify API endpoints and parameters
  • Implement authentication in the future
  • Discontinue API access with reasonable notice

4. Data Accuracy and Liability

4.1 Data Source

All numbering data is sourced from Ofcom's official National Numbering Scheme database (Crown Copyright). The data is:

  • Updated automatically daily from Ofcom's website
  • Provided "as-is" without modification
  • Subject to Ofcom's own accuracy and update schedule

4.2 No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data
  • Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement of third-party rights

4.3 Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL addedPIXELS LIMITED, TELCO.TOOLS, OR THEIR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages arising from use or inability to use the Service
  • Damages resulting from reliance on Service data

This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

4.4 Number Portability

The Service shows the original allocating provider for each number range. It does NOT reflect number portability. If a number has been ported to a different provider, this Service will still show the original provider. Do not rely on this data for current provider information.

5. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee:

  • Continuous, uninterrupted access
  • Any specific uptime percentage
  • Advance notice of maintenance or downtime

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or discontinue the Service at any time
  • Modify features, limits, or functionality
  • Perform maintenance with or without notice

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and documentation, is owned by addedPIXELS limited and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Ofcom numbering data is Crown Copyright and subject to Ofcom's licensing terms.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your information.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Suspected abuse or misuse
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
